What is ceramic coating?
Industry-grade ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution that is applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect from external paint damage... The main idea is to prevent dirt, grime, and stain marks from appearing on the paint job and ruining the clear coat. Paint correction removes most swirl marks and light scratches and brings out the in depth of the color .Steps we do before applying ceramic coating.
How do we prep for a ceramic coating?
- Pressure wash the whole vehicle to remove dirt and grimes.
- Spray the whole vehicle with a foam cannon to soak for a few minutes.
- Rinse off most of the foam.
- Wash the vehicle with the 2 bucket method. 1 bucket with clear water 2nd bucket with soapy water.
- Claybar the whole vehicle to remove any surface contamination that washing may not have been able to remove.
- Surface decontamination of iron particle. This step is to remove iron deposits or what commonly called "industrial fall out" that is trapped in the hard clear coat and porous surface.
- Paint correction or polishing paint to remove swirl marks and other imperfections is a challenge project. If you cut too hard you can remove the clear coat completely.
- When finally finished washing and polishing the vehicle we do a panel wipe with epa wipe to remove special chemical degreasing agent that remove wax, oils, and other residue left.
Ready to apply ceramic coating after all the prep and contamination is done.
